Q. Generally my skin is dry,
but in the winter it becomes unbearable. My body becomes itchy and
it hurts. Is there a special type of treatment that I can use?
Jennifer M., Canada
A. The icy cold winter we're having is taking
its toll, and you're bouncing off the walls of your overheated apartment.
Before you even make it out the door you are exhausted from all
the layers of clothing you have to put on.
While we can't promise you sunshine and warm temperatures, we can
offer you some tips that would make you and your skin feel sexy
again, we promise. You may even be willing to take off a layer or
two of your clothing, who knows?
For Your Face
• Avoid alcohol-based astringents and harsh lotions, especially
those that contain alpha- or beta-glycolic acid.
• Wash your skin at night with Astara
Botanical Cleansing Gel or Karin
Herzog Cleansing Milk. And please use lukewarm water when rinsing!
• Exfoliate no more than two times a week. Blend your exfoliator
with your regular cleanser to make it easier on your skin (Karin
Herzog Scrub or Rosehip
& Maize Exfoliating Masque from Eminence). Or, use Sesha
Exfoliating Gel every seven to ten days.
• Substitute drying soaps and cleansers with a more gentle
cleanser.
• If your moisturizing cream is water-based, put it away until
summer! The water molecules in the product will freeze on your face
in the cold weather, and can cause drying and irritation. Instead,
opt for an oil-based cream.
• Speaking of creams, use a light cream at night and a heavier
cream during the day to protect your skin from the cold. Moisturize
in the morning with three drops of Sesha
Nutritious Lipo Serum, then smooth on Sesha's
A.C.E. or A.C.E.
Plus Cream. In the evening, repair your winter skin with Cellex-C
Betaplex Smooth Skin Complex underneath first and apply Linden
Calendula Treatment by Eminence on top.
For Your Body
Your skin is in a lose-lose situation in the winter because the
dry heat inside our homes dries our skin out, and outside the icy
weather dries our skin out as well. Not to mention what the wool
clothing we wear does to our dry skin! We get all itchy just thinking
about it.
• Avoid steamy, hot showers and try to avoid using soap when
you bathe. Instead of soap, why not use a gentle body gel or body
scrub like Nubian
Heritage Olive & Green Tea Body Wash and Shower
Body Scrub by Karin Herzog.
• Using a loofah from Nelly De Vuyst every other day will
massage your skin and exfoliate away the dead skin, leaving your
skin all silky smooth and sexy, just like we promised! If you don't
find this amount of loofahing enough, use Body
Scrub by Karin Herzog once a week.
• Once out of the shower, dry yourself off only lightly. While
your skin is still damp, apply a body moisturizer, either one that
contains shea butter like SheaSpa's
Shea Butter Lotion with Vitamin E, Nubian
Heritage Honey & Brown Sugar Body Butter (one of Nature's
best moisturizers) or something from Eminence
Organic product line.
As for me, I keep my skin silky soft using soap and a body scrub
only once a week, and a loofah every other day. If you don't believe
me, stop by and I'll let you feel for yourself! (Only one feel per
customer.)
Don’t Forget Your Hands and Feet
• L’Avenir makes a scrub that will ensure soft hands
and cuticles. Just apply Instant
Manicure every night for best results. Also, Yu-Be
Moisturizing Cream is perfect for keeping your hands and feet
deliciously smooth.
For Luscious Lips
• I swear by Badger
Lip Balm. So do badgers the world over. And while you may have
no interest in kissing a badger, slather a little of this stuff
on your lips and your partner will certainly be interested in kissing
you. Be sure and pick a flavor you both like! Also, Yu-Be
Moisturizing Cream is great for your lips.

Q. I have rosacea and in the
summer I can easily maintain my skin, however in the winter is very
hard on my skin, it looks lobster red. My cheeks looks enflamed
and I develop red bumps. What should I do?
Ronnie G., NY
A. Rosacea/Very Dry Skin
1. Take care of that delicate skin with Karin
Herzog Cleansing Cream, using a shammy or sponge to gently wash
the skin off.
2. Exfoliate once a week by blending some Karin
Herzog Scrub with your daily cleanser. Or, use Sesha
Exfoliating Gel (only if you don’t have facial hair) every
seven to ten days.
3. In the morning, treat your skin with Eminence
Rich Black Perlette Grape Moisturizer or Linden
Calendula Treatment.
4. Before bed, use two to four drops of Sesha
Nutritious Lipo Serum underneath Karin
Herzog Vita-A-Kombi 1, this will kill bacteria.
5. Once a week, treat your skin to an Astara
Golden Flame Hydration Mask or Eminence
Pumpkin Orange Masque.
6. It's important to get a facial every
six to eight weeks to remove all your dry, dead skin. The facial
will also help put back moisture and oil into the skin. The dreamiest
part of the facial - the massage - will bring blood to the surface,
nourishing the skin and giving you a rosy glow.

Q. I go skiing a few times year in Colorado.
When I come back from my trip it looks like I am wearing a gas mask,
my face is brown in the middle, and my skin looks wrinkled and dry.
Do you have any suggestions for men?
Glenn S., NY
A. Special Tips for Men
• Going skiing? To avoid irritation, shave the night before
you hit the slopes and avoid astringent and cologne that morning.
• Do not forget to use Cotz
Water Resistant Sun Protection SPF 58; you will tan evenly on
your face.
• Apply A.C.E.
Plus Emulsion from Sesha or After
Shave by Karin Herzog moisturizer at night; we want you to have
sexy, soft skin too.
Sexy smooth skin can be yours this winter, no matter what your
skin type.
